AIA Newark & Suburban Architects is delighted to welcome USGBC for an overview of LEED v5, the next evolution of the world’s leading green building rating system.

Shaped by extensive global stakeholder engagement and a rigorous, member-driven development process, LEED v5 is designed to deliver solutions and measurable impact. The system prioritizes decarbonization across the full building lifecycle, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration. This webinar will highlight key updates from prior versions, including new metrics, prerequisites, and integrated design expectations. Attendees will gain insight into why LEED v5 is needed now and how project teams can prepare for successful implementation.

Speakers

Monique Owens

As the Regional Director for the U.S. Green Building Council, Monique oversees market transformation and development activities in the Middle Atlantic & New England. Through her work, she directs USGBC's community programming in conjunction with local volunteer leaders by overseeing market development, strategic planning, event management, and education outreach. Monique holds a BA in International Studies and Global Gender Studies from SUNY at University at Buffalo and an MPA from SUNY at Buffalo State.

Andrew Sigal

Andrew Sigal joined USGBC in October of 2024 as a Market Manager - Market Transformation and Development, for the Mid- Atlantic and New England Region. He is coming from the recycling industry where he worked with global organizations to implement customized recycling programs in order to hit zero-waste and sustainability goals. Andrew holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning from NYU and a BA in Economics from SUNY Binghamton.

Radhna Saxena, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, SITES AP, Fitwel Ambassador

Radhna Saxena is an Associate and benchmarking specialist in Atelier Ten’s New York office whose work advances the firm’s commitment to environmental performance and human well-being. Balancing technical rigor with a holistic approach, she elevates project outcomes by integrating energy efficiency, healthy materials, and occupant comfort throughout the design process.

Radhna’s multidisciplinary background enables her to guide high-performance design across diverse typologies—from healthcare and cultural institutions to large-scale landscapes. Radhna’s work reflects a deep commitment to creating regenerative, resilient spaces that support both people and the planet. She has played a key role on notable projects including the Penn Medicine Radnor Ambulatory Care Center, the Ellinikon Metropolitan Park transformation, and the Vesterheim Museum, where she applied strategies such as biophilic design, healthy materials selection, and water management to improve both environmental and user outcomes.

Radhna’s expertise extends beyond projects into practice and industry leadership. As co-leader of Atelier Ten’s benchmarking practice, Radhna helps project teams set and exceed ambitious sustainability goals while navigating third-party certification frameworks. She serves on the U.S. Green Building Council Market Leadership Advisory Board and the WELL Materials Advisory Board, where she influences the evolution of sustainability and wellness standards and champions material transparency, indoor air quality, and occupant health in buildings worldwide.
